Buying a container in the Gilroy area
Every container you book from Container Koala arrives at your Gilroy property on a tilt-bed or flatbed truck. Which one shows up depends on your site rather than on the box: a tilt-bed tips and slides the container onto the ground, while a flatbed brings it in on the trailer and leaves the lifting to a forklift or crane you provide. Tell us what your access looks like and we will match the delivery method to it. From there it is one conversation. Send your ZIP code and what you need, and a real person checks stock at the yard nearest that ZIP, confirms the size and grade, books tilt-bed or flatbed delivery, and sends you one delivered price. You deal with one person from quote to drop-off.
Our containers come in 20ft, 40ft and 40ft high cube sizes, new (one-trip) or used. When you ask for a price, we match the size and grade you want to the yard closest to your ZIP code, so your container travels the shortest distance, and send you one delivered price. You deal with one person from quote to drop-off.
Tilt-bed or flatbed delivery
Most people choose tilt-bed delivery: the truck tilts its bed and slides the container straight onto your pad, so you need no equipment. If you have a forklift or crane on site, we can send the container on a flatbed instead and you unload it. How delivery works.
Should you buy or rent a container in Gilroy?
Containers from Container Koala are for sale and for rent. Buying makes sense when you want storage for the long term or on a permanent spot. Renting makes sense for a project, a move or a season, and the rental details come with your quote.
Storage, jobsites and more in Gilroy
Gilroy runs at about 3,500 residents per square mile of land, a mostly suburban pattern, and that shapes what works here. Many homes have room beside a driveway, which is often enough for a 20ft box set down for the season. The common uses in this region are home storage during a move or renovation, garage overflow and seasonal storage, and jobsite storage for builders. Start with storage for the household side, or jobsite storage if you are running a build and want materials and tools locked up on site.
Local conditions to plan for in Gilroy
FEMA's National Risk Index puts Santa Clara County in the top tenth of US counties for how often wildfire events occur. Where wildfire risk is high, keep dry brush and weeds cleared around the container so the ground next to it stays tidy and open.
Beyond Gilroy: nearby towns
Customers in Morgan Hill, Hollister and San Jose can request a delivered price the same way, by sending their ZIP code and what they need.
If you want the container in place before the dry, hot stretch of the local season sets in, book ahead of it rather than in the middle, and give yourself room to get the pad and approach ready. Send your ZIP code and details through the quote form to get started.
Local conditions to plan for
Dry seasons, coast and fire
Dry summers are easy on stored things. Near the coast, salty air speeds up rust, so touch up scratches. In fire-prone areas, keep brush cleared around any structure.
Placement rules
Rules for containers on private property are set by your city or county, and sometimes your HOA or deed restrictions. Some places treat a container like a shed; others have rules on size, placement, screening or how long it can stay. Check with your local planning or zoning office before delivery. See container rules in California for what we found on official state sites.

Get your priceQuestions people ask
How do I get a delivered price in Gilroy?
Send your ZIP code along with the size, grade and whether you want to buy or rent.
Can a container be delivered to a farm or rural property near Gilroy?
Yes, as long as the truck can reach the spot and the ground is firm and level. A tilt-bed needs a long, straight, clear run with no low wires or branches. A flatbed suits a tighter site, with a forklift or crane set up at your end to lift the container off.
How long does delivery take in Gilroy?
Timing depends on the size and grade you choose and on what the the nearest yard serving your ZIP have ready. Your quote comes with the delivery details, and the scheduling is confirmed with you before the truck is booked.
