Container Koala

40ft high cube container rental

A 40 with an extra foot of height, for tall shelving and taller equipment. Fewer suppliers rent them, so we check availability first.

A high cube is 9 ft 6 in tall outside instead of 8 ft 6 in, so you get about 13 percent more space and a taller door opening. That matters for pallet racking, tall machinery and stacked inventory.

Most rental fleets are standard-height boxes, so high cubes are harder to find for rent. We check suppliers near you and say so plainly if a standard 40 is the better option.

Good for

  • Tall equipment and machinery
  • Pallet racking and stacked stock
  • Event and production gear
  • Large household moves

Delivery and pickup space

Same long approach as a 40 (roughly 100 to 150 ft). The taller box rises higher while the bed is tilted, so it needs a little more overhead room than a standard 40. The same kind of truck collects it at the end, so keep that approach clear on pickup day too. How tilt-bed delivery works.

40ft high cube rental questions

How much does it cost to rent a 40ft high cube container?

It depends on your ZIP code, how far the nearest supplier with a rental unit is, and how long you need it. Your rental quote shows the monthly rate, delivery and pickup as separate lines before you agree to anything.

How big is a 40ft high cube container?

Outside: 40' L x 8' W x 9'6" H. Inside: about 39'5" x 7'8" x 8'10". Door opening: about 7'8" W x 8'5" H. That is about 300 sq ft of floor and about 2,690 cu ft. Exact figures vary slightly by manufacturer.

How much room do I need for delivery and pickup?

Same long approach as a 40 (roughly 100 to 150 ft). The taller box rises higher while the bed is tilted, so it needs a little more overhead room than a standard 40. The same kind of truck collects it at the end, so keep the approach clear on pickup day too.

Is there a minimum rental period?

One month. After that it runs month to month with no long-term contract, and the last month is prorated by the day, so you stop paying on the day the container is picked up.

Do I pay a deposit?

No. You pay the first month and the delivery charge on delivery, or before it if you prefer. The pickup charge is billed at the end, at the amount in your quote.

Can I buy the container I am renting?

Yes. Your rental quote states a buyout price, and every month of rent you have paid counts toward it. Ask any time during the rental.
