Container Koala

40ft container rental

Twice the floor of a 20 for not much more a month. Built for jobsites, farms and businesses with real volume.

A 40ft container gives you about 300 square feet under a steel roof: material for a whole build, a season of farm equipment, or overflow stock for a store. Per square foot it is usually the cheapest storage you can rent.

The catch is space. A 40 needs a long, straight run for the truck to set it down and, at the end, to pick it up again, so check the approach before you book.

Good for

  • Construction sites and contractors
  • Farm and ranch equipment
  • Retail and warehouse overflow
  • Long items like lumber and pipe

Delivery and pickup space

Plan on roughly 100 to 150 ft of straight, clear approach, since a 40 usually comes on a longer tilt-bed trailer. The same kind of truck collects it at the end, so keep that approach clear on pickup day too. How tilt-bed delivery works.

40ft rental questions

How much does it cost to rent a 40ft container?

It depends on your ZIP code, how far the nearest supplier with a rental unit is, and how long you need it. Your rental quote shows the monthly rate, delivery and pickup as separate lines before you agree to anything.

How big is a 40ft container?

Outside: 40' L x 8' W x 8'6" H. Inside: about 39'5" x 7'8" x 7'10". Door opening: about 7'8" W x 7'5" H. That is about 300 sq ft of floor and about 2,390 cu ft. Exact figures vary slightly by manufacturer.

How much room do I need for delivery and pickup?

Plan on roughly 100 to 150 ft of straight, clear approach, since a 40 usually comes on a longer tilt-bed trailer. The same kind of truck collects it at the end, so keep the approach clear on pickup day too.

Is there a minimum rental period?

One month. After that it runs month to month with no long-term contract, and the last month is prorated by the day, so you stop paying on the day the container is picked up.

Do I pay a deposit?

No. You pay the first month and the delivery charge on delivery, or before it if you prefer. The pickup charge is billed at the end, at the amount in your quote.

Can I buy the container I am renting?

Yes. Your rental quote states a buyout price, and every month of rent you have paid counts toward it. Ask any time during the rental.
