Privacy policy
Last updated October 15, 2026. Plain-language summary: we collect what you give us to quote and deliver your container, use it for that, and don't sell it.
Who we are
This policy covers containerkoala.com and is provided by Container Koala ("we", "us"). We are a broker: we arrange shipping containers and their delivery through independent local suppliers.
What we collect
- What you tell us: your name, email, phone number, delivery ZIP code and, if you add it, your address; your container choices (size, grade, doors), notes about your site and timeline, and any message you send.
- Partly completed quote forms: if you type your email or phone number into the quote form and leave the field, we save what you have entered so far so we can help if you get stuck. We do not send automated messages based on it.
- Basic technical data: the page you arrived on, the referring site, campaign tags in the link (such as utm or ad click IDs), your browser type, and a one-way hash of your IP address used for spam and abuse protection.
- Analytics, only with your consent: if analytics or advertising tools are enabled and you accept them in the cookie banner, they may set cookies to measure visits and ad performance. See cookies below.
We never ask for payment card details through this website.
How we use it
- To prepare your quote, answer your questions and arrange delivery.
- To share the details needed for your order with the depot and delivery driver handling it (for example, your delivery location, contact phone and site notes).
- To contact you about your request by email or phone, and by text message only if you ticked the box agreeing to texts.
- To keep the site secure and stop spam.
- To understand which pages and ads help people, in aggregate.
Text messages
If you agree to texts, we text you about your quote and delivery. Message frequency varies with your request. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. Agreeing to texts is never required to buy. We do not share your mobile number or text consent with third parties for their marketing.
Who we share it with
- Container depots and delivery carriers working on your order, limited to what they need to do it.
- Service providers that run our website, database and email, under contracts that limit their use of your data.
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
We do not sell your personal information.
Cookies and similar storage
The site uses your browser's storage to remember your progress through the quote form and your cookie choices. If analytics or advertising tags are enabled, they only load after you accept them in the cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time from the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.
How long we keep it
We keep quote and order records for as long as needed to serve you and meet tax and legal obligations, then delete or anonymize them. Partial quote forms that never became a request are deleted periodically.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to show, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop contacting you. Depending on your state (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and others), you may have additional rights under state privacy law. Use our contact form to make a request; we will respond within the time the law requires and will not treat you differently for making it.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections and stored with access limited to people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, so we collect only what we need.
Children
This site is for adults buying containers. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
