Container Koala

20ft container rental

The most rented size. About 150 square feet of dry, lockable storage that fits on most driveways and side yards.

A 20ft container holds roughly what a one-car garage does: furniture from two or three rooms during a remodel, stock for a busy season, or tools and materials for a job. It is short enough to fit on most driveways, which is why it is the size most people rent.

You rent it by the month and keep it as long as you need it. When you are done, empty it, close it up and tell us, and we book the pickup.

Good for

  • Home remodels and moves
  • Seasonal business stock
  • Jobsite tools and materials
  • Clearing out a garage or barn

Delivery and pickup space

Plan on roughly 60 to 100 ft of straight, clear approach for the truck and container, and about 12 ft of width. The same kind of truck collects it at the end, so keep that approach clear on pickup day too. How tilt-bed delivery works.

20ft rental questions

How much does it cost to rent a 20ft container?

It depends on your ZIP code, how far the nearest supplier with a rental unit is, and how long you need it. Your rental quote shows the monthly rate, delivery and pickup as separate lines before you agree to anything.

How big is a 20ft container?

Outside: 20' L x 8' W x 8'6" H. Inside: about 19'4" x 7'8" x 7'10". Door opening: about 7'8" W x 7'5" H. That is about 150 sq ft of floor and about 1,170 cu ft. Exact figures vary slightly by manufacturer.

How much room do I need for delivery and pickup?

Plan on roughly 60 to 100 ft of straight, clear approach for the truck and container, and about 12 ft of width. The same kind of truck collects it at the end, so keep the approach clear on pickup day too.

Is there a minimum rental period?

One month. After that it runs month to month with no long-term contract, and the last month is prorated by the day, so you stop paying on the day the container is picked up.

Do I pay a deposit?

No. You pay the first month and the delivery charge on delivery, or before it if you prefer. The pickup charge is billed at the end, at the amount in your quote.

Can I buy the container I am renting?

Yes. Your rental quote states a buyout price, and every month of rent you have paid counts toward it. Ask any time during the rental.
